In this beginner tutorial we will be showing you the steps to draw your own kawaii carrot pixel art using a pixel editor software. Before we begin you will need to know how to make a pixel art grid and use basic tools such as the pencil tool in Mega Voxels. Make a Pixel Art Grid

To begin we will make a 32×32 pixel art grid to draw a kawaii pizza in pixel art. 32×32 pixel art is a very popular size when creating pixel art, especially for digital projects such as games. Lets change the color of the canvas to the color White (#FFFFFF). This canvas will be what we use to draw our pixel art kawaii pizza on. Your kawaii pizza pixel art grid should have a canvas, sometimes known as a spreadsheet, that looks something similar to this:

Draw an Outline for the Kawaii Carrot

Next we will draw an outline for the carrot so we can get the overall shape for our pixel kawaii carrot. Choose the color Black (#000000) and select the pencil tool in the toolbox. Since this outline will be a guide for the shape, feel free to make adjustments to the outline to what match your project. As a guide, you can use the outline we drew below for your carrot or feel free to design your own.

Paint the Colors

Now that you drew an outline for your pixel art kawaii pizza, we will add some color to make it stand out. Fill in the bottom section of the pizza a yellow color (#D6C037). On the top section of the pizza we will use a brown color (#9A7136). And lastly for the pepperoni we will use a red color and create 3 circles (#CE1D3B). Draw the Shadows and Highlights

So whenever you create pixel art there are essentially two parts to shading: the highlights and the shadows. We will start with the shadows. We will be applying a shadow to our 32×32 pixel art pizza using a single color. This color will be applied to the bottom of the pizza. Remember, to create a shadow color for the outer layer of the pizza we will use a darker yellow based on the yellow we used before (#BEAA2E). We will also do the same thing for the crust of the pizza by using a darker brown (#866330). Try to match where we put the shadows in the image below.

So now that you got the basic idea we will continue adding some depth to our pizza to give it a 3D feel. Let’s create a highlight using the same yellow from the inside of the pizza, but instead of going darker this time we will go lighter (#E7D359). We will also add a highlight to the crust of the pizza by using a lighter brown (#A98147).Remember, this doesn’t have to be the exact color in fact this is an opportunity to make the pizza look like your own. In our version we only highlighted the main section of the pizza. Use our image as a guide for your pizza.

Great! When you are happy with your shadows and highlights on your pizza, be sure to view your final image. To see your pixel art pizza go ahead and turn off the grid lines to make sure you like the way the pizza came out.
